Arrive Lucknow in the morning hours or you will be picked up from your hotel in the city (it is important to leave early, not later than 0800 hrs). Our representative will meet and assist you to board your exclusive car. Later drive to Tree of Life Jagir Lodge, Dudhwa. On this wonderful four and a half hours drive pass through a great countryside and sugarcane fields, en route in the car you will be served cold breakfast and reach Dudhwa by lunch.
On arrival we will check-in at the Tree of Life Jagir Lodge : Imagine hundreds of acres of sugar cane fields all around with dashes of bright yellow mustard patches in between; we stay here in this lodge that was a private home built in the 1940s in the middle of this plantation which was once used by the British Governors as a hunting lodge.
We will enjoy our lunch here on arrival and post lunch we will set out for an afternoon safari through Kishanpur (range of Dudhwa forest) that is home to Tigers, Rhinoceros, Elephant, Swamp Deer, Sambar, Cheetal, Hog Deer, Kakar, Wild Pig, Blue Bull, Rhesus Monkey, Langur, Sloth Bear, Porcupine, Otter, Monitor lizard, Turtles, Python, Mugger, Gharial etc. Among all this we just about guarantee sighting of the one horned rhino.
Back to our lodge, dinner and overnight at the lodge.
This morning get up to the chirping birds around the lodge that in itself is and the sounds of animals. Of the nearly 1300 birds found in the Indian subcontinent, over 450 species can be seen in the Reserve. These include Hornbill, Red Jungle Fowl, Pea fowl, Bengal Florican, Fishing eagle, Serpent eagle, Osprey, Woodpeckers, Shama, Indian Pitta, Paradise flycatcher, Orioles, Emerald dove etc. During winter the vastand varied water bodies attract a large variety and number of migratory birds making the reserve a favourite haunt of bird watchers. Today we will set out for yet another pre-breakfast safari into the park. Morning are quite different than the afternoons and it is imperative to experience this in the National Park itself on an elephant back moving through the tall grass. We will return for a forest breakfast to our jeep and later continue our Safari.
By lunch we will be back to our lodge to enjoy hot lunch.
Later evening we will visit a nearby Tharu Village. The local Tharu tribe have weaving patterns unique to them. Witness their skills as you explore tribal life in the village.
Enjoy an evening walk in the fields and of course an evening drink at the lodge, followed by a dinner.

We will check out of our lodge with a few options in hand today (drive to Lucknow and our tour will terminate in Lucknow at airport/train station/any other place of your choice)
OPTION – 1 : Pre-breakfast Visit Katrniaghat (this is set in Girva river with an enviable fauna and aquatic life. Forest breakfast will be served on this excursion) – this has a *supplement cost.
OPTION –2 : Breakfast at the lodge and drive back to Lucknow, to reach Lucknow by lunch. An optional tour of the city without a guide post lunch (Lunch for today will not be served by us)

3 Luxury Rooms 3 Luxury Suites 6 Luxury Villas (Jhaalas) Each of these has an interesting name to it – either that of the animals, birds and fauna of the region or then titles of the days gone by. The Luxury Rooms and Luxury Suites are in the main building which was built in the 1940s. The private Luxury Villas or ‘jhaalas’, as is the local name, are spread across the property giving you seclusion and privacy in the lap of nature.
3 Luxury Rooms : Large and spacious at about 450 sq ft, each of these rooms come with separate bedroom and living room areas. They also have a very large and well appointed bathroom with running hot and cold water and all amenities. Each open onto a veranda – an ideal place to enjoy your morning tea.
3 Luxury Suites: An absolute delight, The Viceroy Suite; The Governors Suite and the Jaagirdar Suite offer 650 sq ft of luxury ! Ornate, carved wood four poster beds; a separate living area with comfortable sofa seating; a dining area; a lounger and a fire-place add to the absolute sense of space and luxury. Very spacious and well lit en-suite bathrooms (180 sq ft) with teak wood dressers and antique cupboards indulge you. Each suite looks onto a private courtyard or terrace.
6 Luxury Villas (Jhaalas) : Unique to the Terrai region because of the very high thatched roof style of architecture, these independent Villas (Jhaalas) offer you 800 sq ft of unique accommodation options. Each Villa has it’s own private garden or sit out which gives you a view of the forest around. With natural wood or stone flooring, the spacious Villas comes with a very large and well appointed bathroom with a bath tub, shower, twin sinks. The living area looks onto the greens outside.
All the accommodation options are non-smoking and come with double beds and air conditioning (heating/cooling). We have not provided for televisions – for those who really cannot get away from it, one is placed in the TV Room.
MEALS : Your Plan includes five meal services – ‘chotta haazri’ (morning tea); breakfast; lunch (3 course menu); evening tea; dinner (4 course menu). We do not do buffets and create each meal as a different experience for you. Main meals are served at The Pavilion – our well lit dining room with charming outdoor seating options and overlooking The Mango Grove.
The Library Bar : This charming room will take you to an era gone by. Dark teak-wood carved antique cabinets; rich panelled walls with interesting motifs; rich rugs and tapestries; a crackling fire place; beautifully framed pictures telling you the story of the Terai region; antique arte facts; a collection of books including works of Billy Arjun Singh and a fine selection of whiskeys, wines and cognacs served with warmth and care.
The Verandah : Overlooking the main lawns with it’s huge pine trees, The Verandah runs across the entire front of the building. An ideal place to sip that morning cup of tea or then read a book you have always wanted to finish. Your ‘chotta haazri’ (morning tea) and evening tea will also be served here.
The Pavilion : Is our dining room where main meals are served. We offer the options of indoor or outdoor seating, the latter being most definitely recommended. Breakfast is served from 0730 to 1000 hrs; lunch from 1230 to 1430 hrs; and dinner from 1900 to 2130 hrs. We have limited room service options at a supplement charge.
The Mango Grove and Pool : The Mango Grove provides an ideal setting for relaxing with a book on one of the ‘charpoys’ laid out or then for that evening bon-fire and exchanges with fellow travellers over a drink. Or then, relax by our fresh water swimming pool with an amazing view of the forest behind.
The Spa : Loose yourself for a while and indulge in exquisite wellness treatments at our Spa. With a unique 20 feet high bamboo thatched slanting dome, our experienced spa therapists sooth your body and mind with a blend of traditional Indian wellness.

Reach The Resort :
Lucknow is very well connected by air and rail, it is the ideal gateway to the Lodge. The Lodge is 250m kms / 4.5 hours drive from Lucknow Airport or Railway Station. It is suggested to arrive Lucknow early morning or leave Lucknow early to reach the Lodge by lunch time. Nepal is also a very convenient drive from the Lodge.The India / Nepal border is about 40 km (55 minutes drive) from the Lodge at Gauri Phanta (India side) / Dhangadhi (Nepal side). Immigration is done at this point. Yeti Air operates one flight in the afternoon from Dhangadhi Airport to Kathmandu (75 minutes.)
