The Tornos Club

At Tornos we celebrate intellect. As a part of this celebration we have created a few clubs or rather a group of like-minded individuals who wish to share, learn and contribute to the subject of their choice.

We meet regularly at The Tornos Studio and at The Tornos Terrace to experience the joys of intellect and talk about our favourite subjects. Join this club by simply writing to us and if we feel you meet the parameters set by us, we will be pleased to make you a part of The Tornos Club. Enjoy great food, great wines, refreshing brews of tea and coffee and enrich yourself intellectually…

Drink & Dine…
Let drinks and food be the style. Enjoy learning all about great drinks and food. How about cooking, serving and eating. This one is not just talking about Awadhi Cuisine that undoubtedly is the star attraction when one talks of Lucknow, but also international cuisine that is now indigenous and has adapted to the local palate as if it always belonged here.

1857 Uprising…
1857 is no less than an epic written and re-written. World over this subject has attracted the best of writers and researchers and today we talk about it again and revisit each aspect. We stock an enviable collection of book on the subject and draw experts to talk on it.

Victorian Style…
No less than a fairy-tale is a bygone era that is still referred to when one speaks of style. Be it the grandeur in interiors or exteriors of a building, fashion, furniture, tea, language et al. We at Tornos Club revisit this majestic era, discover and re-discover this great era and its immaculate styles.

La Martiniere Memoirs…
La Martiniere is a name that stirs great memories and it is always a topic of discussion when two old students meet. We meet to talk and share old fond memories over a drink. Know more about the school, than what you ever did when you went to it.

Nawabi Era…
Mysticism, awesome, grand and many more superlatives associated with the Nawabs of Awadh come alive at this club. Talk about an era that was talked about among the British in England and the Britons envied the richness that eventually led to its downfall. Its about men who ruled with utter grace yet were so amicable that the subject treated them just next to God. The Courtly grace was felt on the streets and in the lanes of this fabled city.
