From Thursday, people coming from Charbagh will have to take two alternative routes to reach Hussainganj due to metro rail construction. Now the traffic from Charbagh will have to take left turn towards Gautam Buddha Marg to reach Guru Gobind Singh Marg via Basmandi to reach Hussainganj crossing. For people to reach Hazratganj or Gomtinagar, have to take right turn from KKC petrol pump towards Barron Road and reach Cantonment or Gomtinagar.
LMRC will dig almost half width of the Station Road at two places near KKC trisection and St Agnes’ Church for underground Hussainganj. While going to GPO crossing one may take either Barron Road to reach Cantonment and then return via VIP Road or head directly via Charbagh and Latouche Road to reach Parivartan crossing via Aminabad to avoid these two construction patches.
LMRC also plans to impose the third and final diversion at Hazratganj on MG Road tentatively around August 20. In Hazratganj, MG Marg will be cut off from near DRM office to Shahnajaf road trisection. LMRC has already imposed a diversion from Burlington crossing to Bapu Bhawan. Implementing more diversions within 10 days will disturb the entire traffic of Ashok Marg and Vidhan Sabha Marg for the next two years.
