On September 4 & 5 in memory the of Mother Teresa, UP’s CM directed the Lucknow Development Authority, which is currently undertaking the restoration of heritage monuments of Lucknow, to light up the clock tower in white and blue. Symbolizing the peace and charity, white and blue colours are being used to light up the tower and also it reflects the shades of the Missionaries of Charity order she founded and of course Mother Teresa’s sari.
The clock tower’s top dome will be lit up in blue LED lights and the side walls and the balcony will be covered in white LED lights. LDA was planning to light up other monuments too in Old Lucknow, but due to the ongoing restoration work, it had to limit the lighting to the clock tower
